Welcome to Assassin’s Week…

ac2screen1And we’re finally here.

Assassin’s Creed II has long been my most anticipated game of 2009. Flawed as it may have been, I absolutely loved the original game, and I’ve been eager to see a sequel ever since.

And now the game is less than 24 hours away, and boy does it look good. From what I can see, Ubisoft listened to the fans when they crafted Assassin’s Creed II. I’ll reserve final accolades for after I actually give the game a try, but I’m pretty optimistic at this point. I’ve little doubt that Assassin’s Creed II will be an improved experience in every way, and a possible candidate for game of the year.

All will be revealed shortly, it seems. Be here to read my impressions. I plan on buying the original again tomorrow (seeing that I’ve apparently lost my copy) and giving myself a refresher course. So if you’re lucky, maybe I’ll write about that. Or something. We’ll see. In any case, we won’t be hearing from Ethos, because he’s a silly poor person who can’t afford to buy the game.

Well, I take that back. We’ll certainly HEAR from him, but god knows if we’ll hear anything relevant.

I’d be happy for Ethos to review the original AC :)

  2. SiliconNooB says:

Hey is it just me, or is the above picture striking the exact same pose as Cole from the Infamous cover. I swear that if you overlaid the two (bulky costume aside) they would be a perfect match …

  3. Ethos says:

I think you’re right. They are VERY similar. The only difference I can see is that Cole isn’t walking.
Oh, and if I had $98723959823592837498237091795832175091875098741592318074 I still wouldn’t buy AC2 first day.

  4. Riddles says:

    Yes you would.

  5. Ethos says:

    I don’t think it’s guaranteed either way.

  6. 7thCircle says:

So two weeks ago Riddles was too poor to buy any more games, and now he’s buying/bought Dragon’s Age, MW2, AC, and AC2 since then? Did he win the lottery and I didn’t read the update where he stated that?

  7. Riddles says:

Not really, I just gave up on trying to budget my money. It’s the holiday season, after all. Might as well blow all that I’ve got.

  8. Ethos says:

You bet! Fly up to Canada!
Whereas I literally couldn’t eat on Saturday because, blinded by excitement, I stupidly put full price down on New Super Mario Bros Wii. It was worth the unnecessary starvation.

  9. DarthGibblet says:

I’m constantly shocked at how little of my budget actually goes towards games. Despite getting all games that I have both interest in and time to play (the latter 1/2 usually being the kicker), it’s something like 5% of my income that goes towards gaming in one form or another. Most of it goes towards much less interesting things, like electricity and food. Stupid body, always needing to eat.

On a sidenote, I love mint.com. Offering me useless information about my finances for a little over a year now.

  10. DarthGibblet says:

Oh yeah, and now I can’t see Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man without thinking of Chevy Chase spread eagle. Thanks, Community!

  11. Ethos says:

I love Community. So much. It’s getting really good.

“Might as well blow all that I’ve got.”

The very words I live by.

Cole is walking … they even have the same leg forward!

  14. SiliconNooB says:

I bet their proportions are even within a millimetre of each other, it’s the same picture, just different clothing …

  15. Ethos says:

Just one word for you, SN: why?

  16. SiliconNooB says:

I thought it contextually appropriate …

  17. DarthGibblet says:

I don’t know of any context that wouldn’t be improved by SparCole.

  18. SiliconNooB says:

Perhaps he reminds Ethan too much of work … If SparCole doesn’t have a home at Riddlethos then where?
