Halo 3: ODST
Fuck off, okay? I thought this game looked awesome. I’ve never owned or even cared about a single Halo game, but after watching hours of Halo 3 played online, I started to understand the appeal. Add that onto a campaign that actually looked well put together, the lack of that stupid overpowered, crappy-named, Master Chief, and you had a game that actually piqued my interest.
But since this is the year I got a website, I ended up buying, playing, and even finishing more games than ever. Mario & Luigi, Kingdom Hearts: Dumb Name, Suikoden Tierkreis, Forza 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legend, Spirit Tracks. I just didn’t have the time or budget to throw in another title that I couldn’t bet would please me. Still, ever since I admitted to myself that I wanted to play it, I’ve felt a twinge of regret that I never even tried it.
Oh, and I hear NHL 10 is the shit, and I’m sorry I missed that too. But not as much, since I bought 09 for $15 and I can bet it’s close to the same thing. Runner up for you, hockey!

I actually just started the campaign for this last week (and my girlfriend finished it yesterday). It seems fun so far, there’s a very different mood than any of the other Halo campaigns, especially in the music, but so far it’s Halo, with all the positives and negatives that entails. I’m enjoying it, but it’s nothing particularly suprising. Still looking forward to finishing it when I get back home, though.
Well since I haven’t played a moment from any of the other campaigns, I won’t find it recycled!
haha, fair enough. Sadly, since I picked up the game, the multiplayer disc has gotten much more play than the single player, main disc. I’m just glad I have a way to play Halo 3 multiplayer with the extra maps at work now :D.
I’m slowly getting into the FPS online world as I’ve been trying out MW2 online. Definitely addicting and fun.
Halo’s a very different multiplayer experience than CoD. Because of the game setup, everybody can absorb almost an entire clip of the standard weapons, leading to more prolonged firefights than pop-and-shoot tactics. Both are fun, but I prefer the Halo method, since I’ve neHver really been all that patient. CoD gives a much higher reward to being able to get the drop on your opponent, favoring tactics over reflexes. Not to say Halo’s not tactical, but you’ll very rarely be able to finish off an opponent before they can return fire like you can in CoD.
