The ending was a big wtf, but it didn't enrage me or nothing. It just felt like they made 2/3 of the game, went "Holy crap are we way above budget!" and slapped a couple out-of-nowhere ending scenes there and called it a day. Sure, the awesome beginning where you murder someone, and then how you handle the crime scene before leaving directly affects the story in a later scene, is the direct opposite of the linear, QTE-filled, plot-screwing ending, but -- eh -- the last hour of the game didn't ruin the first seven for me. I think that's why everyone is stoked for Heavy Rain. The expectation is all the inspired storyboarding of the first 3/4 of Indigo Prophecy with none of the rushed, wtf aspects at the end. Honestly, you can get more from 2 minutes talking to Jack in ME2 than 8 hours with Karla and the male protagonist, who starts out kinda tepid and then halfway through the game gains all the personality of a stick of firewood. Don't get me wrong, the good train Fahrenheit is a pretty smooth ride until it derails in spectacular fashion (massive amounts of WTF involving old grannies and Keanu Reeves). But even the most wildly unbelievable stuff was pretty fun, but then it's like the writers had a stroke and forgot what to do with all the character development they did earlier in the game. Like if Haley Joel Osment had said "I see aliens." and then one of them pops out of Bruce Willis' chest. And you're kind of like "Well, I certainly didn't see that coming, but I don't think you really earned that plot twist, M. Night, even if that's all you're known for." I watched it a ton when I was little, but recently not so much. The movie was pretty good, though. The only time I really watch much TV any more is on the train to and from work. I've got a system I set up that'll take any videos in a list of folders on my computer and automatically turns them into an iPod/Zune compatible podcast. RE: Heavy Rain Install - I really don't mind the large installs, assuming they'll make load times in the game shorter (I mean shorter than they would be without the install, not shorter than other games). I'd rather do all the waiting in one large chunk than add a couple of seconds to every loading screen in the game. I've gotta say, I was completely uninterested in this game initially because I thought it would just be a bunch of quick time events, but it is (slowly) getting higher and higher on my list (and not because of the video in the story :F). @Andogo: You have my attention... I went from loving it to holding it in utter contempt as a missed opportunity.
